WORLAND - Funeral Mass for Worland resident Rose Coassin, 85, was celebrated yesterday, July 12, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Worland by Fr. Joseph Daley. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Worland.

She died July 8, 2004, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

Born Dec. 7, 1918, in Dietz, she was the daughter of John and Cecylia (Kiczek) Mentock; was raised and educated in Dietz, Acme and Sheridan; and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1937.

On Dec. 2, 1939, she married John Coassin in Monarch.

The family moved to Thermopolis and, then, Kirby in 1942; returned to Acme in 1952; and settled in Worland in 1954.

She worked for the Ben Franklin Store for 11 years and Anthony's for 18.5 years, retiring on May 31, 1985.

She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, Thomas John Coassin of Hurricane, Utah; daughter, Gloria Ann Hunt of Spearfish, S.D.; and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976, after 36 years of marriage; five brothers; two sisters; and parents.
