OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - June 22, 2001

SHERIDAN-Memorial services for Sheridan resident Cecil N. Lupton, 82, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Big Horn Avenue Church of Christ, with Charlie Spray officiating.

He died June 20, 2001, at the Sheridan Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was born June 6, 1919, at his parent's home on Ash Creek in Sheridan County, the son of Frank and Alice (Van Gordor) Lupton.  He graduated from Sheridan High School.

He was a naval hospital corpsman during World War II.

On June 18, 1947, he married Dora Lapp at the Williams ranch in Sheridan County.

He loved hard work, both on the ranch and during his working years at the Sheridan V.A. Medical Center.

He enjoyed spending time with people, old and young.  He also spent many years on the Tongue River school boards and was a member of the Elks Lodge and Farm Bureau.

His non-working hours were spent fishing; working with cattle and horses; gardening; reading; puzzles; card-playing; recycling aluminum cans; cutting firewood; and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of Sheridan; four children, Jaci Austin of Ranchester, Jean Ostermyer of Banner, Ray Lupton of Sheridan and Ed Lupton of Laramie; a sister, Oriel States of Sheridan; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and on great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LifeLink, in care of Kay Roush, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan 82801.
