James Russell GRIMSHAW 1918 - 1991 SHS 1937

SHERIDAN - Services for James Russell Grimshaw, 72, will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Champion Funeral Home by Rev. Ted Tromble.

Graveside rites will be accorded by the National Guard and American Legion at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Grimshaw died April 11, 1991, at his home of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 24, 1918, to William Clarence and Ragnhild (Fxtrom) Grimshaw in North Dakota. He spent most of his life in Sheridan.

During World War II, he served as a sergeant first class, and was a Golden Glove champion boxer.

On Oct. 5, 1946, he married Frances Bernice Boyko at Sheridan.

Mr. Grimshaw enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and collecting arrowheads and Indian artifacts.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Martini of Casper, Cheryl Marsh and Carol Morrill, both of Sheridan; and two sons, David Grimshaw of Fairfield, Calif., and Stephen Grimshaw of Sheridan. Also surviving are six sisters, Grace Chatham of Fscondido, Calif, Esther Meredith of Sheridan, Fern Hancock of Sutter, Calif. Lyla Murdent of Kerns, Utah, Jean Brent of San Jose, Calif., and Nancy Hebrew of Santa Rosa. Calif.; one brother, Bob Grimshaw of Modesto, Calif.; and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife. Frances, on April 12, 1970, one son, and one daughter.
