Fred Nelson ELMGREN 1920 - 1952 SHS 1937

February 24, 1920 - September 6, 1952.

Sheridan, Wyo. - Funeral services were held Wednesday for Floyd N. Elmgren, 32, who died Saturday at Sheridan County Memorial hospital of polio.

Elmgren was born in Sheridan, a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Elmgren. He graduated from Sheridan high school in 1937 and attended the University of Wyoming until his enlistment in the army in 1943. Following his discharge in 1946 he again enrolled at the state university, receiving a bachelor's degree in 1947 and a master's in 1948. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Sigma Chi and Kappa Phi Fraternities.

For three years he was superintendent of schools at Moorcroft. He was a member of Big Horn Mountain Lodge No. 43, A.F. & A.M., Royal Arch Masons and the Sheridan Methodist church.

In addition to his parent’s, survivors are his wife, Mrs. Fay Jackson Elmgren; three children, Valerie Ann, 6; Carl Gilbert, 2, and Curtis Floyd, 2 months, and a brother, Byron Elmgren of Sheridan.

Funeral services were in charge of the Rev. R. Jay Wilson of the Methodist church with graveside services by Big Horn Mountain Lodge No. 43. Burial was at Sheridan municipal cemetery.
