SHERIDAN - Funeral Liturgy for Pauline E. Bertrand, 73, will be conducted at noon Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan by Father Eugene Sullivan. Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Champion Funeral Home in Sheridan. Rite of Committal will be at the Elks Cemetery.

Mrs. Bertrand died July 28, 1992, at Sheridan County Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 21, 1919, at Truxton, N.Y., the daughter of John and Anna (Schiffelbein) Eckerman. The family moved to Sheridan where she graduated from Sheridan High School.

On Sept. 11, 1970, she married Glen L. Bertrand at Billings, Mont.

Mrs. Bertrand worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Sheridan as a nurses' Bertrand aide for many years. She then worked at the Eventide Nursing Home (now Sheridan Manor) until her retirement. Following her retirement, Mrs. Bertrand spent half a year in the Big Horn Mountain and the other half in Safford, Ariz.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, John Brohard of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Terriann Wilker of Dubuque, Iowa, Diane Fallness of Missoula, Mont., and Pamela Tullis of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Clara Dow of Sheridan; two brothers, Dean Eckerman and Tom Eckerman; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
