Michael Angelo CETRONE 1918 - 2009 SHS 1937

In Honor and Celebration of the life of Michael A. Cetrone, departed from our lives in Omaha, NE.

Born in Monarch, WY into a coal mining family of Italian immigrants from the Abruzzi area of Italy, he went on to attend Creighton University for two years, then graduated from the University of Illinois in 1941.

Two years later he married his loving wife, Phyllis (Schum). They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.

Upon graduation from college, Mike was hired by Homer Scott to work for Peter Kiewit Sons' Company in Sheridan, WY. From this Sheridan District office, he opened up several other Kiewit offices in the U.S. and Canada. He then settled in Omaha for the next 36 years, rising to the position of Peter Kiewit's Corporate Assistant and Director of On-Sight Construction Offices. He retired in 1981 after having faithfully served Mr. Kiewit and his company for 40 years.

The following 18 years were spent traveling, enjoying family, playing golf and living in Incline Village, NV before returning to Omaha in 2000.

Mike is survived by his children, Anne (Herb) Johnson, Jane (John) Monnich, Patricia (Dan) Koch, and Steven (Patricia) Cetrone; nine grandchildren, Sara Johnson (Les) Wilkinson, Caroline Johnson (Brant) Horne, Susan Johnson, John Monnich, Jr., Brian (Courtney) Monnich, Jessica Koch (Joe) Jarecki, Dak (Sandra) Koch, Hollyn Cetrone and Brenna Cetrone; thirteen great grandchildren, Hart Wilkinson, Suzanna Wilkinson, John Horne, Charlie Horne, Ben Monnich, Luke Monnich, Meredith Monnich, Charlotte Monnich, Olivia Jarecki, Ava Jarecki, Jacob Smith, Claire Koch, Emma Koch; sister, Angele Cetrone of Sheridan, WY.

MASS of Christian Burial was held Saturday at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart or the St. Pius X / St. Leo School.
