Raymond C. Barber, 57, Platte City, died Thursday at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

He was born in Sheridan, Wyo., and lived in Jackson and Platte counties since 1954.

Mr. Barber was a retired carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah E. Barber of the home; four sons, Harold L. Barber, Fort Worth; Pvt. James D Barber, with the Army at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; Lance Cpl. Raymond T. Barber, with the Marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif.; and Ronald T Barber of the home; two daughters, Miss Sue A. Barber of the home, and Mrs. Janice Gregory, Antioch, Tenn.; three stepsons, William M. England, 6729 Bellefontaine; Allen L. England,715 Prospect, and Larry E. England, 2201 Poplar; his mother, Mrs. Alma S. Barber, Platte City; three brothers, Royal J. Barber, Platte City; Burton W. Barber, Minneapolis, and Donald L. Barber, Centerville, Iowa, and ten grandchildren.

The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to Children's Mercy Hospital.
