Thelma Jane ADAMS Sherry 1919 - 1987 SHS 1937

SHERIDAN. Wyo. - Thelma J. Scherry worked as a registered nurse at the Veterans Administration Medical Center for 20 years before retiring.

She enjoyed reading and cooking, and was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, the Parent Teacher League, SL Anthony's and the Elks Does.

Mrs. Scherry, 67, died Thursday in her home in Sheridan of natural causes.

She was born in Worland, Wyo, a daughter of Clarence and Irene Manning Adams. She attended Custer Grade School, Central Junior High School and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1937, she graduated from Denver University and on March 17, 1942. married Albert F. Scherry in Sheridan. He died in May 1971.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Lord of Laramie, Wyo.; two sons, A.F. "Rick" Scherry II of Big Horn, Wyo, and Jon R. Scherry of Sheridan; a sister, Doris Vest of Port Orchard, Wash.; and three grandchildren.

Christian Wake services will be at 7 p.m. Monday in Champion Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 9: 30 a.m. Tuesday with burial in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
