SHERIDAN -- A graveside service for Sheridan resident Edna E. Schneider, 86, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery by minister Mike Dennis of the Christian Church in Gillette.

She died at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, of natural causes.

Born Sept. 3, 1919, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Alice (Barker) and David Stevens; and was raised and educated there.

On Feb. 19, 1938, she married C. Wayne Schneider in Billings, Mont.

The couple moved to Gillette and remained until the fall of 1939, when they moved to Fort Worth, Texas. In 1944, the family returned to Gillette, and then settled in Sheridan.

A homemaker and mother, she enjoyed needlework, crafts, and gardening; and was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi.

In her later years, she was employed at Sheridan College Library.

Survivors include her son, Terry W. Schneider, and his wife of Gunnison, Colo.; daughter, Judy A. Schneider-Birdie, and her husband of Gillette; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two brothers, R. Doland Stevens of Sweet Home, Ore., and Thomas R. Stevens of Vancouver, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter; her parents; a sister, Jennie Kusel; and a brother, David "Bud" Stevens.
