OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS - February 7 2006

Vigil service for Stella J. Novara, 86, of Sheridan will be 7 p.m. Friday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ronald Stolcis as celebrant. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Ms. Novara died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at her residence.

She was born March 20, 1919, in Monarch to Michael and Anna (Gryz) Novara. She grew up and attended school in Monarch. She graduated from Sheridan High School and Heiman Business College in Sheridan.

She moved to Washington, D.C., in 1940 and worked as a secretary for the State Department until 1945. She moved to Glendale, Calif., then to Hollywood, Calif., where she worked for Litton Industries and Westrex Sound Studio until she retired.

She returned to Sheridan in 2000 to be closer to family.

A member of Holy Name Catholic Church, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and travel.

She was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
