OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS - August 11, 2001

Junior R. Miller, 83, of Sheridan died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Viewing will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Capt. Michael Bates officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Miller was born March 15, 1918, in Sheridan to Leroy and Bertha (Batemen) Miller.  He grew up and graduated high school in Sheridan.

He married June McKelvey in 1939 in Sheridan.  She died in 1955.

Mr. Miller worked on the bridge gang for CB&Q Railroad and was medically retired from the railroad when he was 48.

He married Juanita Harris in 1957; they later divorced.  He married Zina Anderson in 1972; she died in 1978.  He married Evelyn Smith in Hardin, Mont., in 1979.  She died in 1993.

He was a lifelong resident of Sheridan and a member of Big Horn Mountain Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bingo, working in the yard and his two Boston terriers.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dwight; a stepdaughter, Gladys Ring; and two granddaughters.

Survivors include three sons, Jack of Ranchester, James of Burns and Jeff of Washington; three daughters, Linda Vallejo and Judy Miller, both of Sheridan, and Janice and Julie Miller, both of Washington; two stepsons, David Smith of Sheridan and Bob Smith of Gillette; a stepdaughter, Sharon Johnson of Mesa, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
