Georgia Ann GRACE Dooley 1918 - 2004 SHS 1936

Sheridan native Georgia Ann Dooley, 85, of California died Saturday, June 5, 2004, in Mountain View Nursing Home in Sylmar, Calif.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be 1-9 p.m. Sunday and 8-9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Dooley was born June 7, 1918, in Sheridan to George and Sylvia Grace. She was a 1936 graduate of Sheridan High School.

She received nursing training in Sheridan and did her practicum for nursing at the VA Hospital here.

She married Elbert Dooley July 3, 1940, in Sheridan. They lived in Sheridan and on a homestead east of the city.

Mrs. Dooley worked several years for the Sheridan and VA Hospitals. She also worked for Johnson County Hospital from 1960-87, when she retired.

Mr. Dooley died in November 1989. Mrs. Dooley lived in Buffalo until 2003, when she moved to California to be near her daughter. She enjoyed painting and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister.

Survivors include two sons, Rick of Leiter and Larry of Modesto, Calif.; a daughter, Cheryl Hurd of Lancaster, Calif.; two brothers George Grace of Buffalo and Don Grace of Sheridan; two sisters, Eunice Sanders of Denver and Beverly Todd of Arizona;; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Buffalo Senior Center in Care of Adams Funeral Home.
