SHERIDAN - Funeral Services for Sheridan resident Alice J. Hoffman, 82, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan by the Rev. Joseph Keys.  Interment will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

She died Aug. 19, 2002, at her home.

Born Aug. 22, 1919, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Fred and Alice (Cossitt) Bechtold; was raised and educated in Sheridan; and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1936.  She did some post-graduate work in Sheridan.

She worked for Clouds Peak Television for 12 years.

In 1963, she married Robert Hoffman.

A member of the First United Methodist Church, she was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the organ; watching "Days of Our Lives." "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune"; corresponding with family and friends; and traveling.  She liked playing darts and was a member of Wednesday night and Sunday teams; and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Ken Harper of Alden, Pa.; daughter, Pamela Sampson, and her husband of Sheridan; a niece; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband in 1987; parents; a brother, Arthur Gordon Bechtold, in 1969, a sister, Nina Crouch, in 1998; and a great-grandson in 1982.
