SHERIDAN -- Memorial services for Virginia Reed, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Kane Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Goodwin officiating.

She died Nov. 25, 2006, at Sheridan Manor.

She was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Kearney, to Melvin and Lillie (Greub) Winingar. After graduation from Sheridan High School, she received a nursing degree.

She worked at Sheridan County Memorial Hospital for 30 years.

She married Orlo A. Reed on Feb. 7, 1937.

She enjoyed hiking, bridge, knitting and travel.

Survivors include her sister, Melba Harlin of Sun City West, Ariz., and Lorene Schrader of Cheyenne and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Jerry Reed, her parents, and two sisters, Viola Hinz and Velma Cook.

Cremation has taken place.
