OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - June 6, 2001

SHERIDAN-Funeral services for Sheridan resident Roger E. Todd, 84, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at Champion Ferries Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Elks Cemetery.

He died June 2, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Sheridan, after a short illness.

Mr. Todd was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Sheridan, the son of Fred and Gladys (Wilcox) Todd.  He was raised on Lower Piney Creek Ranch near Ucross.  After attending grade school, he graduated from Sheridan High School.

He joined the Army Air Corps after graduation.

Following his discharge, he married Margueritte A. Kagie on Dec. 5, 1942.  They then moved to Arizona, where he worked on the railroad as a conductor for two years, before they made their home on a ranch on Lower Piney Creek and later on Clear Creek.

They remained in the ranching business until 1984, when they moved to Big Horn.

He served on the board of directors of the Sheridan/Johnson County REA and was a life member of BPO Elks Lodge 520 of Sheridan.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Survivors include tow sisters, Edna Fay of Sheridan and Sadie Dexter of Cheyenne; two brothers, the Rev. Eugene Todd of Cheyenne and Lewis Todd of Tucson, Ariz.; six children, Richard of Mountain Home, Ariz., David of Buffalo, Virginia Ewalt of British Columbia, Canada, Steven of Sheridan, Linda Mentock of Raytown, Mo., and Edgar of Sheridan; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992; and two brothers, George and Luther.
