OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - December 23 2004

SHERIDAN -- Funeral services for Sheridan resident Rosemarie Yvonne Davis, 89, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 23, at Champion-Ferries Funeral Home in Sheridan by the Rev. Douglas Goodwin. Interment will be in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

She died Dec. 20, 2004, in Westview Health Care Center.

Born Oct. 31, 1915, in Sheridan County, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Banas) Potoski; was raised on her family's ranch on Beatty Gulch, north of Sheridan; and attended Wagner Grade School.

She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1935, then worked for her aunt, Mary Kumor; and cooked on ranches for Covers and Wilsons in Big Horn, Owens in Dayton and Belton Evans on Pass Creek.

On Oct. 21, 1942, she married Jack R. Davis in Sheridan.

They lived in Laurel and Shelby, Mont., before settling in Wyola, Mont., where her husband worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs until retiring in 1975. The couple then moved to Sheridan.

She was known as an excellent cook and seamstress. An avid gardener, especially of tomatoes, she enjoyed the outdoors and loved wildlife.

Survivors include her son, Jack Davis, and his wife of Denver; two daughters and their husbands, DeAndrea Folster and Cheryl Gill, both of Sheridan; sister, Ann Sikora of Sheridan; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1984, after 42 years of marriage; a sister, Amelia Barnes; and two brothers, Frank Potoscar and John Potoski.
