Catherine M. MELNECK Harker 1916 - 2004 SHS 1935

Catherine M. Harker, 88, of Sheridan died Friday, June 11, 2004, at her residence.

Virgil services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Funeral liturgy will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating.

Burial will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

Mrs. Harker was born, April 8, 1916, in Kansas City, Kan., to Pete and Cady (Homan) Melneck. The family moved to Sheridan when she was a child. She attended Holy Name School and graduated from Sheridan High School.

She married Harry Arnieri in June 1940 in Sheridan.

She worked at Pioneer Pharmacy, Babe's Flowers, Brouilette's and Capital Drug.

Mr. Arnieri died in 1971.

She married Walt Harker in 1974 in Spokane, Wash.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and did volunteer work. She also belonged to St. John Bosco Group and the Council of Catholic Women for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and most sports.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, a brother and an infant daughter.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Mills of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Jim Arnieri of Sheridan; a brother, Joe Melneck of Sheridan; and a sister, Sherry Rulli of Sheridan.
