OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - June 07 2005

SHERIDAN -- Services for Sheridan resident Myrna Elizabeth Gorman, 88, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Champion-Ferries Funeral Home of Sheridan.

She died June 5, 2005, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County, from pneumonia.

Born Dec. 19, 1916, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Eva (Coffrin) and Ernest L. Hobbs, who homesteaded in Passaic. Their 320-acre homestead was purchased by former Wyoming governor and U.S. Sen. John B. Kendrick in August 1927.

On March 5, 1941, she married John Gorman in Sheridan.

She traveled with her husband while he worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri; and returned to Sheridan in 1950.

A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she was involved with the Rebekahs, Navy Mothers, Banner Community Club, and the Cub and Boy Scouts.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years; three children, Carol Cheeney, and her husband of Sheridan, Robert Gorman of Ogden, Utah, and Ronald Gorman and his wife of Cheyenne; sister, Betty Carlton of Basque Farms, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, infant Blanche Hobbs and Helen Buckley; and an infant great-grandson.
