Harriett CHURCHILL Neighbors  1916 - 2002  SHS 1935
OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - April 30, 2002

SHERIDAN - At her request, private family memorial services were conducted April 27, 2002, for Sheridan resident Harriet Neighbors, 85, who died April 25, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

She was born Nov. 6, 1916, in Sheridan, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Birkhauser) Churchill, and graduated from high school.

On July 15, 1935, she married Elvern Neighbors in Buffalo.

She loved playing cards and games of chance, enjoyed gardening and tending flowers, especially orchids; and liked to feed birds and animals around her home.  She loved traveling anywhere, from Story to Trinidad, Tobago; and attending school sports events and cheering loudly.  Her greatest love was for her family.

An active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, she belonged to the Altar Guild for many years and, recently, the Vestry.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Nancy Merrill and Susan Baggett, and son, Tom and his wife, all of Sheridan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with one due in September; and sister, Joan Hunter of Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

The family would appreciate memorials to St. Peter's Episcopal Church or the EJ and Harriett Neighbors Scholarship Fund, in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan 82801.

Kane Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
