OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS - June 5, 2003

Henry E. Vine, 86, of Sheridan died Saturday, May 31, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Private family services will be later, with inurnment of cremains in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Mr. Vine was born Aug. 18, 1916, in Cambia to John and Lillian (Eslick) Vine.  He grew up in Monarch and Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School.

He married Edyth Kawamoto Dec. 16, 1941, in Fort Collins, Colo.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.  After the service he worked for Sheridan Wyoming Coal Co. in the Monarch mine until it closed.  He then worked as a diesel mechanic for Burlington Northern Railroad until 1980, when he retired.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed fishing with his brother, hunting and gardening.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Vance Vine of Cody; a brother, Robert of Sheridan; a sister, Rose Parsons of Sheridan; and two grandchildren.
