OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS -December 8, 2001

Sheridan native Parry Schriver, 85, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at his home in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., from complications of chronic lung disease.

Private family services have been held.

Mr. Schriver was the son of Elmer and Edna Schriver, who opened and operated the P.O. News for more than 50 years.

He was a 1934 graduate of Sheridan High School, and completed his education at Kemper Military Academy and Oregon State University.

He joined the Federal Aviation Administration, where he spent 35 years before retiring in 1975 in Los Angeles as assistant director of Air Traffic Control for the Western Region.

During his retirement, he and his wife spent their summers at Tepee and Eatons' Dude Ranch.

Survivors include his wife, Pat; two daughters, Tricia Crilly of Cheyenne and Catherine McGowan of Marietta, Ga.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
