OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - July 28 2004

TORRINGTON - Mass of Christian Burial for Frank A. Redle, 88, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today, July 28, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Torrington by Frs. Kevin Koch and Carl Beavers and Deacon Rollie Raboin. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Valley View Cemetery.

He died July 22, 2004, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver.

Born Dec. 20, 1915, in Sheridan, he was the third son of seven children of Frank and Marian (Mooney) Redle; was raised and educated there; and graduated from Holy Name and Sheridan High schools.

On June 22, 1940, he married Mary Clare Gabish in Townsend, Mont.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

After his honorable discharge, he completed I.C.S. correspondence and became a mechanical engineer and surveyor for Holly Sugar Corp. He retired in 1981, after 48 years of employment.

He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1942 and was a member of the American Legion. He served the Boy Scouts of America for 13 years and Friendly Indians; and coached Holy Name School athletics from 1934 to 1938.

His interests included woodworking, fishing, hunting, golfing, and working with dogs. He loved gardening and flowers, especially roses, of which he had 70 varieties.

Survivors include his son, Frank Redle Jr., and his wife of Salt Lake City; three daughters, Anne Marie Simms of Gila, N.M., Susan Thompson and her husband of Littleton, Colo., and Mary Pat Adams and her husband of Rock Springs; brother, David Redle of Akron, Ohio; sister, Marian Kuzma of Billings, Mont.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Bill, Austin and Edward; and a sister, Mary Jude Rosal.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Children's Home, Box 1117, Torrington, WY 82240; Torrington American Legion Travis Snow Post No. 5; or Knights of Columbus at St. Rose Church.
