Sheridan resident Edythe Kawamoto Vine, 91, died June 3, 2008, at Sheridan Manor, the nursing home announced.

Cremation has taken place. No information was available on services.

Born Sept. 14, 1916, to Anna and Timothy Kawamoto Sr. in Dietz, she attended schools in the Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1934. She attended Lucas College of Beauty and graduated in 1936.

She loved to cut and style hair. She worked at Rex’s Beauty Shop and later at Capitol Beauty Parlor for nine years.

She married Henry Vine on Dec. 16, 1941, in Fort Collins, Colo. They moved back to Sheridan in 1945, and she bought Rex’s Beauty Shop, where she did hair for many years.

She is survived by her son, Vance of Cody; a brother, George Raymond of Sheridan; a sister, Grace Kawamoto of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
