Miles A. Floretta, 95, from Sheridan passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Brewster, WA.

Miles was born on June 11, 1915, to John Peter and Emma Marie (Wegher) Floretta, in Cambria, Wyoming.

He married Ruth Frances Humes in Sheridan, Wyoming in December, 1941. They had four children.

Miles worked at Ed Hammer Inc., for forty-five years and retired as Service Manager.

He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Miles was a life-long resident of Sheridan and a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church. He enjoyed his farm, especially all his animals: rabbits, pigs, poultry, cows, sheep, horses, dogs, (anything he could sneak onto the farm with the exception of goats and guineas which his wife would not allow). Miles also enjoyed fishing in his favorite secret fishing holes and hunting, particularly late in life on the Zezas Ranch in Buffalo, WY. He loved his family and friends.

Miles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Paul Dean Floretta.

He is survived by his children, Karen Cecelia Foutch, (Ron) of Carlton, WA, Mark Allen Floretta, (Joanne) of St. Louis, MO, and David Lee Floretta,(Betty) of Port Susan, WA, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Visitation for Miles will be at Kane Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 6:00 pm with Christian Wake Services at 7:00 pm. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan with Father Ron Stolcis officiating. A reception will follow service in the Parish Hall. Inurnment will be held at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 9:00 am with full Military Honors.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Wyoming Chapter 400 E. 1st St., Casper, WY 82601. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
