Sheridan native Jeanne Carman Waugh, 87, of Buffalo died Thursday, June 19, 2003, in the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today in Willow Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Kent Waugh officiating.  Arrangements are with the Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Waugh was born Feb. 24, 1916, in Sheridan to Archie and Carrie Eggart.  She grew up and was educated in Sheridan and was a 1934 graduate of Sheridan High School.

She attended business school for one year after high school, then took a job with the Bank of Commerce in Sheridan.

She married Sam Waugh Oct., 9, 1942, in Bexar, Texas, and they traveled all over the world during his career in the U.S. Air Force.  He retired as a lieutenant colonel, and they moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where Mrs. Waugh worked as a secretary for the Air Force Academy.

They later moved to Austin, Texas.  Mr. Waugh died in November, 1991.  Mrs. Waugh moved to Sheridan in 1993 then to Amie Holt in Buffalo in 1998.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Johnson County Library or a charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
