Harriet Hazel McManus, 93, of Sheridan died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating.

Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home.

Born Nov. 22, 1915, in Sheridan to Harold and Hazel (Morris) Brunsell, she married Mark McManus here in April 1937.

Together for 57 years, the couple raised three children and operated their own businesses.

In retirement, they lived in Sheridan and Arizona.

Mrs. McManus was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, travel and spending time with her grandchildren.

She also was an active member of the Junior Women’s Club, Akcita Win, Daughters of the Nile, and St. Peter’s Episcopal church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Linda McManus Alden; and a grandson.

Survivors include a son, Jim McManus of Shell; a daughter, Norma McManus Dean of Brighton, Colo.; a sister, Joan Wesley of Sandy, Utah; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may benefit Shrine Children’s Fund, P.O. Box K, Sheridan, WY 82801 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
