OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - September 28, 2001

STORY - Memorial services for Berniece Brown, 86, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Story Women's Club building with the Rev. David Miers officiating.

She died Sept. 26, 2001, at Johnson County Health Care Center.

She was born Nov. 26, 1914, in Forsyth, Mont., the third daughter of Arthur and Viola Shaw.  She was raised on the Dana Ranch at Pass Creek, where her father was foreman.  She attended Pass Creek School and Sheridan High School.  After graduation, she taught school in Parkman.

On Nov. 21, 1935, she married Colvin "Cully" B. Brown.

They ranched in Dayton and on the Little Big Horn River above Wyola, Mont.  The couple retired to Story, where he worked as water commissioner.

Following her husband's death, she moved to Buffalo and lived in the Clear Creek Apartments.

They were longtime members of the Elks Lodge in Sheridan.

Survivors include two sons, Arthur Brown of Longmont, Colo., and Tory Brown of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
