Helen C. Legerski, formerly of Sheridan, passed away at the Point Frontier Life Care in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Tuesday, November 9, 2010.

She was born on August 18, 1914 in Carneyville, Wyoming to Andrew and Ava (Washut) Michalek. Helen attended Sheridan schools and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1933. She also received additional training which allowed her to teach elementary education in the Dutch Creek area for four years.

Helen married Joseph C. Legerski in June 27, 1937. She was a homemaker and mother of their seven children.

Helen was a member of Holy Name Church and the Alter and Rosary Society which she greatly enjoyed.

She especially enjoyed cooking with her family on the holidays, crocheting, knitting, gardening, crossword puzzles, reading, and being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, daughter Michelle Schleyer and son Gregory. She was also preceded in death by one brother; Peter Michalek and three sisters; Anne Wantulock, Miltilda Walker and Mary Waisner.

Helen is survived by five sons; Charles of Billings Montana, David, Eugene, and Donald of Cheyenne Wyoming and Richard of Prosser Washington. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Helen will be at Kane Funeral Home on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 6:00 pm with a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 pm. Father Ron Stolcis will be officiating. Internment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Holy Name Parish Hall.
