SHERIDAN -- A memorial service for Virginia V. McClintock, 91, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Derryberry officiating.

Inurnment will be at 1 p.m. in the Elk's Section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Born June 25, 1915, in College View, Neb., to Chauncey A. and Minta A. (Gibson) Bird, the family moved to Sheridan in 1917. She graduated from Sheridan High School and was a lifelong resident of Sheridan.

On Dec. 12, 1935, she married David S. McClintock in Sheridan.

She was a homemaker and a 4-H leader, a past Worthy Matron of Friendship Chapter No. 51, Order of the Eastern Star, a life member of the First United Methodist Church, the Sheridanaires, a charter member of the Valley Homemaker's Club, and the Sheridan Woman's Club.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing cards and particularly bridge, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons, David B. McClintock of Sheridan, and William L. McClintock of Thornton, Colo.; two daughters, Joyce Waddell of Casper, and Kathleen Conley of Concord, Calif.; one brother, Hugh Bird of Sheridan; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 215 W. Works St., Meals on Wheels at 211 Smith St., Sheridan, WY 82801, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
