Sheridan County native Wilma Eva Schedlock Meyer, 88 died Sunday, April 7, 2002, in Albuquerque, N.M.

She was born Oct. 10, 1913.  She graduated from Dayton Junior High School and Sheridan High School and received her licensed practical nurse degree by correspondence course from the Chicago School of Nursing.

She worked for Dr. Richard E. Crane in Sheridan for many years, then moved to New York City, where she worked 20 years for Yale Nursing Service.

She spent time in New York with her nephew, Sheridan native and composer Dede C. Meyer, and enjoyed an acquaintance with musician Sammy Kaye.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Maurice, and a son, Jerome Maurice.

Survivors include a daughter, Cherrill M. Whitlow of Albuquerque; a sister, Amy I.S. Coffin of Dillon, Mont.; and a graddaughter.
