Anna Marie MASCHER Jennings 1914 - 2012 SHS 1932

College Place resident, Anna "Marie" Jennings, 98, passed away September 30, 2012, at her home.

Marie was born May 28, 1914, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to Albert and Lillie (Butterfield) Mascher. She attended Walla Walla College. On May 28, 1938, she and Lewis E. Jennings married in Sheridan. They moved to College Place from Pendleton, Oregon in 1978.

She had taught elementary school in Wyoming for many years as well as after moving to Pendleton. She also worked as credit manager for Harris Pine Mills in Pendleton, retiring at age 65.

Marie loved her yard, taking care of it and her flowers. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and embroidery. She volunteered many hours at Walla Walla General Hospital and at the Village Church where she was a member, serving as the church treasurer.

Marie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Guin and Melvin Ringering; her sister, Vera Tanner of Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother, Lester Mascher of Sumner, Washington; grandchildren: Jeannine Bennett, Jennifer Marksmeier, Derek Taylor and Kimberly Barney; great-grandchildren: Stacy Maxted, Trevor Bennett, Jessica Novea and Cameron Barney; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Phyllis Taylor.

The graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Southwest 6th Street and Grandview Avenue, College Place, Washington. Pastor Steve Walikonis will officiate.
