OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - December 1, 2001

SHERIDAN - Memorial services for Sheridan resident Ruth Alderson, 87, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan by the Revs. David Duprey and Ray Clark.

She died Nov. 28, 2001, at her home.

She was born July 2, 1914, in Kirby, Mont., the daughter of William and Lena (Barton) Ferguson. She was educated in Kirby, graduated from Sheridan High School and earned a nursing degree from Sheridan College.

During World War II, she served in the U.S. Navy WAVES.

In August 1946 she married William Alderson in Forsyth, Mont.

A dedicated homemaker, she raised four children and also worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center for eight years as a licensed practical nurse.

She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Sara Alderson of Billings and Suzanne Grant and her husband of Ordway, Colo.; two sons, William of Sheridan and Thomas of Wyarno; six grandchildren; and sister, Helen Bohner of Lucerne Valley, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, her parents and five brothers.
