Mary Carbone, 90, of Sheridan died Monday, May 31, 2004, in Sheridan Manor.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Ogg officiating.

Mrs. Carbone was born Jan. 19, 1914, in Carneyville to Frank and Rose (Montegna) Carbone. She attended Holy Name School and was a 1932 graduate of Sheridan High School.

She won the Wyoming state violin competition in 1930 and attended the Conservative of Music/Violin and Voice in S Cecilia Roma. She graduated from the Conservative in 1935 and toured with the Metropolitan Opera in the New York area.

She lived in Italy, New York City, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Los Angeles before retiring to Sheridan.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roxy, and an infant sister.

Survivors include numerous cousins.
