SHERIDAN -- A memorial service for Joseph Albert Arnieri, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 11, 2006, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Fr. Ronald Stolcis officiating.

He died June 30, 2006, in Denver.

He was born Oct. 14, 1915, in Kleenburn, to Luigi and Mary C. (Gavita) Arnieri. He grew up and attended schools in the Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1932.

He went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad in Sheridan until 1968, when he transferred to Alliance, Neb., then to Denver where he retired in January 1969.

He married Helen Armstrong on Oct. 14, 1937, in Sheridan.

He was a member of the Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, was an avid Yankees fan and a good Democrat.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Moll of Seattle and Patty Johnson and Marcia Bates, both of Edgewater, Colo.; two sisters, Mary Smith and Ann Arnieri, both of Sheridan; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
