Marjorie HEISLER Ferren 1912 - 2006 SHS 1931

SHERIDAN -- Memorial services for Marjorie H. Ferren, 93, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Interment of cremains will follow in Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

She died Aug. 10, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

She was born Oct. 18, 1912, in Sheridan to Joseph and Olinda (Schumacher) Heisler. She graduated from Sheridan High School and went on to the University of Wyoming to receive her bachelor's degree in education.

She married Jack E. Ferren on March 30, 1934, in Golden, Colo., and they raised two sons.

Her entire focus was her family and anything of interest to them was of interest to her.

She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting in the Big Horn Mountains.

She was the founding president of the University of Wyoming chapter of the national Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member and founding president of PERLS and was associated with many social events at the Sheridan Elks Lodge.

Survivors include her husband of Sheridan, her son, David Ferren and his wife of Penfield, N.Y., two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Elks Cemetery Fund in care of Tara Keep, First Federal Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, 82801.
