SHERIDAN -- Funeral services for Naomi Lucille Malyurek, 94, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 9, 2008, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Fr. Ronald Stolcis officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She died Jan. 6, 2008, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County after a short illness.

She was born June 15, 1913, in Sheridan to James H. and Ida Belle (Hadden) Ellis. She attended Taylor Grade School and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1931. She received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Wyoming.

She taught in the rural schools of Passaic and Kooi before marrying Paul B. Malyurek on June 15, 1937, in Buffalo. She also taught in the school systems of Dayton, Ranchester and Big Horn for 30 years until retiring in 1975.

She was a member of Retired Teachers Association, AARP, Sheridan Homemakers Club, Holy Name Catholic Church and numerous social groups.

She enjoyed playing cards, walking, dancing and spending time with her family. No matter what she was doing, she had to get back to her apartment to see "The Price is Right."

Survivors include two daughters, Coralee Davis and Annette Buckley; sons, Thomas Malyurek; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be sent to her daughters for a Memorial Bench to be erected in her honor, to Coralee Davis, 96 Red Fox Dr., Sheridan or Annette Buckley, 214 Meade Creek Rd., Sheridan.
