Pauline "Pat" RHEA Damrow 1911 - 2014 SHS 1930

Funeral services for Pauline "Pat" Damrow, 102, will be held at 2pm Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Doolin officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday at 11am in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery in Sheridan, Wyoming. Pat died at her home on April 26, 2014.

Memorials may be made to the Torrington Fire Department.

Pat was born August 28, 1911 in Sheridan, Wyoming the daughter of Ralph and Susan (Tubb) Rhea. She was raised at Sayle, Montana (Powder River County) the middle child of her brother, Robert and younger sister Evalyce (Peg). She attended high school and business school in Sheridan, earning a scholarship, and after graduation taught in a country school in Spotted Horse, Wyoming.

In 1936 Pat and Howard Peterson were married. They lived and worked in Utah for a few years, and then returned to Wyoming where they worked at a Dude Ranch in Birney, Montana, until they settled in Ranchester, Wyoming where owned and operated a restaurant, Pat's Café, for several years. Pat was known from far and near for her gourmet cooking–her specialties being homemade rolls, doughnuts, and pies, which she was famous for all her life.

Following the sale of the restaurant, Pat worked at the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Sheridan until they moved to Torrington, Wyoming where Howard was a brand inspector, and Pat worked at the Citizen's National Bank. Howard passed away in 1963, and Pat worked at the band until her retirement.

On July 10, 1970 Pat and Arthur Damrow were wed. He was a longtime construction worker, rancher and farmer for many years in Torrington. He was well known for his expertise in the farming industry. Pat and Art enjoyed many years owning and operating their farms until Art's retirement in 2005. They were very active for theirs years– Pat still playing cards with her friends. She was one of the first charter members of the Bethel Baptist Church in Torrington.

Pat is survived by her husband Art of Torrington; a sister Peg Hoffman and her husband George of Billings, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Howard Peterson; a brother Robert Rhea; and a step-son Vernon Damrow.
