Pauline “Polly” Kuzara, 91, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at her home
in Sheridan. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kane Funeral Home
with the Rev. Douglas Goodwin officiating. Interment will be in the Elks
Cemetery. Mrs. Kuzara was born Dec. 8, 1911, in Sheridan to John and Nora
Caywood. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1930 and from the University
of Wyoming in 1934 with a bachelor of arts degree in physical education.
She was a member of the Chi Omega and Phi Gamma Nu sororities and frequently
visited the university and her sororities during homecoming activities.
She married Stanley Kuzara June 8, 1935, in Golden, Colo. They lived in
Sheridan, Casper, Cheyenne, Roswell, N.M., Denver, Colorado Springs, Colo.,
and Pueblo, Colo., before returning to Sheridan in 1949. She assisted her
husband in many endeavors including the real estate and insurance business,
the International Association of Turtles and the Wyomo Oil Co. She was
an active member for years in the Does and PERLS organizations. She and
her husband traveled abroad several times and in the United States while
attending real estate and Elks conventions and other activities. She was
preceded in death by her husband in January 2000. Survivors include her
daughter, Janet Kilpatrick, of Sedona, Ariz.; sons Rick of Sheridan and
Robert of Bellevue, Neb.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
