Former Sheridan County resident Eco Berneice Billings, 95, of New Salem, N.D., died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, in New Salem.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Sheridan with the Rev. Ken Doolin officiating.

Arrangements are with Bismarck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Billings was born Dec. 20, 1910, in Arnold, Neb., to Harry and Dora (Moffitt) Leland. When she was 11, the family moved to Big Horn.

Mrs. Billings later moved to Sheridan, where she graduated from Sheridan High School. She attended nursing school for three years.

She married John K. Billings in the early 1930s.

She moved to to New Salem in 2003 to be closer to her daughter. She enjoyed reading the Bible, gardening and sewing.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Berneice Billings.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Sample of New Salem; two sons, Alva of Sheridan and John of Denver; a sister, Emogene Johnson; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Camp Bethel in care of First Baptist Church of Sheridan.
