Jean Adams Rand, 91, of Cheyenne died Wednesday, February 27 at Mountain Towers Nursing Home in Cheyenne.

Jean was born May 26, 1910, in Sheridan, Wyoming, a daughter of John J. and Cora Kelson Adams.

She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1928. After receiving a normal diploma from the University of Wyoming, she taught school in South Dakota and in Ranchester, Kaycee, and Wheatland, Wyoming.

She married Ralph R. Rand on June 4, 1938, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan, Wyoming. Cheyenne was her home from 1938 until her death.

In 1940 Jean became a charter member of X-JWC. She continued her participation in that organization until a year ago. She received her 50-year pin from Alpha Chi Omega in 1983 and was also recognized for 50 years of membership by Mizpah Chapter of Eastern Star. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Stamp collecting and gardening were her hobbies.

Survivors include her son Charles B. (C.B.) Rand of Cheyenne, her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and William C. Collier of Cheyenne, grandsons Kevin C. Collier of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and Colby C. Collier of Cheyenne, two nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph R. Rand on August 10, 1993, a brother Archibald Adams, and a sister Helen Laisy.

Cremation has taken place at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory. A memorial service will be held at Schrader's Chapel at 4 p.m. on Monday with the Rev. "Skip" Reeves officiating. There will be a grave marker in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, Wyoming.
