SHERIDAN -- A graveside service for Sheridan resident Dorothy K. Waisner, 96, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery by Pastor Scott Lee.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Kane Funeral Home of Sheridan.

She died Aug. 8, 2005, at Sheridan Manor.

Born Oct. 26, 1908, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Kathryn (Jennings) and Charles Waisner. She graduated from high school; received a bachelor's degree in education; and began her teaching career.

After many years of service, she retired from the Sheridan High School English Department in 1973.

She loved educating young people and enjoyed reading, gardening, and her pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Glenn.
