DAYTON -- A memorial service for Ranchester resident Margery (Loucks) Masters, 95, will be conducted at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, as part of the regular church service at Dayton Community Church.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Kane Funeral Home of Sheridan.

The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sheridan by the Rev. Dennis Goodin. Interment will follow in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She died Oct. 6, 2005, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Born Nov. 6, 1909, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Linnie (Alden) and Homer Loucks; graduated from William Woods College in Missouri; then worked as a school teacher.

On June 29, 1930, she married Leonard Ellsworth "Pops" Masters in Miles City, Mont.

They raised Hereford cattle on the OZ Ranch near Dayton; and, for more than 50 years, established and built a reputable cattle-ranching operation.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron; Sheridan County Cowbelles, serving as local and state president; Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as chapter and state regent and honored as a 50-year member of the Sheridan Chapter; and Dayton Community Church, attending church every Sunday without fail.

Her interests included playing bridge; golfing, traveling to other countries, and gardening. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports; and enjoyed politics and going to the senior center to visit friends and share a meal. She disliked broccoli.

Survivors include her daughter, Marcia (Masters) Powers, and her husband of Dayton; stepdaughter, Judy Beckner of Lake Forest, Calif.; two nephews; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, John D. Loucks; and a son, Richard Masters.
