OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - June 07 2005

SHERIDAN -- Graveside services for Sheridan resident Esther White, 95, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Miller.

She died June 6, 2005, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Born Sept. 15, 1909, in Greeley, Colo., she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Oglivie) and James Brown; and, as a young girl, moved to Sheridan, where she was raised and educated. After graduating from high school, she completed nursing school in 1930 and went to work at MHSC.

On April 26, 1935, she married Theodore "Sam" White in Sheridan.

During World War II, they moved to Washington state, where she worked in the shipyards. At the end of the war, they moved to Findlay, Ohio, for a few years; then moved back to Sheridan.

She returned to work at MHSC and retired in 1974.

A member of the Eagles Auxiliary, she enjoyed flowers, crafts, sewing, and gardening; and loved animals, especially her cats.

Survivors include a niece, a nephew, a daughter-in-law, and a step-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960, after 25 years of marriage; a daughter, Barbara Bocek, in 1990; and a stepson, Robert White.
