Jesse Raymond Cerwick, 23, of Sheridan, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011, in Copperas Cove, Texas, in a single motor vehicle accident.

Jesse was born on December 18, 1987, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Collette Jo Prill and Raymond Alan Cerwick. He was raised in Sheridan, Wyoming, and graduated at Sheridan High School in 2006.

He enjoyed drawing, pottery, board games, paintball, video games, playing sports in school such as football and soccer, and he liked just spending time with friends. On August 20, 2010, Jesse enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he then went to Fort Hood, Texas where he was stationed until his death.

Jesse was preceded in death by his brother, James Cerwick, step father, John Prill, grandfather, James Mallinger, grandmother, Barbara Mallinger, and his uncle, Jeffrey Owings.

He is survived by his mother, Collette Prill and Brad Wilhelm, of Sheridan, father, Ray (Naima) Cerwick, of Perry, IA, grandparents, Jim and Mary Cerwick, of Clinton, IA, Sally Cerwick, of Dunombe, IA, Bud and Teri Prill of Ranchester, WY, brothers Michael Cerwick, Mason Cerwick, Stephen Prill, sisters Stephanie Prill, and Allison Wilhelm, all of Sheridan, WY.

Visitation and Remembrance Gathering will be held at 6:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Kane Funeral Home with Father Rob Spaulding officiating. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Rob Spaulding officiating, with internment to follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, with full Military Honors. A reception will follow in the Holy Name Parish Hall immediately following.
