Jesse Priest BROWN Salveson 1987 - 2011 SHS 2006
;

Jesse Priest Salveson, 23, of Sheridan died Monday, July 4.

He was a graduate of Sheridan High School, where he was known as Jesse Brown.

He was born July 27, 1987, in Cheyenne to Brian and Marlene Obermueller. After the Obermuellers divorced, Jesse was adopted by Marlene’s second husband, Phil Brown.

He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan on Aug. 16, 1987. As a teenager he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 2002.

As a young adult, Jesse legally changed his last name to Salveson after his grandfather, Sivert Clarence Salveson, whom he cherished throughout his life.

He married Sarah Cummings, daughter of Tim and Melana Cummings, on May 24, 2008, in Sheridan.

In 2006, the Cummings family opened their home to Jesse when he was done with high school and had nowhere else suitable to live.

From then on, Jesse surrounded himself with people who believed, as he did, that God loved him, had saved him through Jesus, and would lead him to eternal life. He lived in that love, upon that faith, and with that hope.

One of his favorite youtube videos was from author Henri Nouwen on “the life of the beloved.” That God loved him was the single most remarkable truth in Jesse’s life.

He enjoyed video and computer games, collecting DC comics characters, going to movies, his exotic pets, Tuesday night Bible studies, family time with the Cummings, and especially spending time with his sister-in-law, Emily Cummings.

He was an employee of the Sheridan Wal-Mart at the time of his death.

He was a loving husband, a loyal friend and kind in every way.

He was a member of the Sheridan Wesleyan Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; his parents Marlene (Mo) Salveson of Billings, Mont., Brian Obermueller of Sheridan, and Phil Brown of Cheyenne; his aunt Denise Kay Day, her husband Barry, his cousins Justin, Jamie and Jolen; his grandmother, Violet Salveson of Billings; and his father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tim, Melana and Emily Cummings of Sheridan.

Memorial services will be July 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sheridan Wesleyan Church, with the Revs. Darrell White and Ryan Koltiska officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Memorials will be used to help Jesse’s wife, Sarah, with expenses.
